Maui Vista - Kihei

We have guest testimonials listed farther down on this page. Check them out! You can horseback ride, play golf, play basketball, go to the gym, miniature golf, go to the cinemas, among many other things!!
Activities on site or nearby include:

Tennis, swimming, biking, hiking, sightseeing, snorkeling, scuba diving, golfing, shopping, water-skiing, boating, boogie boarding, surfing, parasailing, fishing, windsurfing, jet-skiing, fitness center, sailing & luaus. People come to Maui for beaches and watersports - the island has some of Hawaii's best windsurfing and boardsurfing, as well as plenty of good swimming, snorkeling and bodysurfing. The average ocean temperature is 75 to 80 degrees. Kihei is on the drier and wamer side of the island. The average rainfall is 16 inches a year. Kamaole I beach is across the street- one of the best in Maui! The water is turquoise blue, with gentle waves. It's perfect for kids. Surfing is good at Maalaea Pipeline, on the southern side of Maalaea Bay- one of the world's top 10 areas. This is only a short drive from the condo. Beginning surfers can take lessons in Kihei, a short distance away. The best diving & snorkeling is the sunken volcanic crater of nearby Molokini, where fish are tame and the water is very clear. For beach snorkeling, the easily accessible Black Rock at Kaanapali is good. There is also snorkeling at the beaches in Kihei, and nearby Wailea. There are many different snorkeling and scuba boat trips out of nearby Maalaea, as well as dinner, sunset, and cocktail sailings. Although the water's the place to be on Maui, there's also a lot to do inland. Haleakala National Park has some incredible hiking through its volcanic crater, and the whole island has many nature walks. Haleakala is also popular with horseback riders, and cyclists enjoy coasting 38 miles down the steep mtn. You can hang-glide from Haleakala to the coast, a beautiful descent of nearly 10,000’.

There is a City Bus that runs around the local area with a bus stop near the condo. Shopping is less than a mile away and the grocery/drug stores and restaurants are much closer. There are some movie theaters and other shopping which are all about a mile away (a good brisk walk). There is also a beautiful oceanfront park about a mile away that has picnic tables.

I stayed here for part of my trip in Maui and it definitely was in the best location to access local restaurants, bars and beaches. It is a very central location to go to the crater, Big Beach, the Kamaola beaches and the airport if you have a late flight. A bonus was that snorkeling gear and boogie boards were provided. You can walk to many restaurants in the area, but since everyone has a rental car, it is a really short drive. I recommend going to Koiso for japanese food, Three's Bar and Grill for happy hour while you are in this area.

Just got back from 8 days in Maui at the Maui Vista. Really enjoyed the accomodations. The security guard was helpful and friendly..he even offered to teach us how to cook some local food. Unfortunately we weren't able to take him up on it but appreciated the offer. The unit was cozy and perfect for my boyfriend and my first Hawaiian get away together. It had everything we needed from a cooler to beach towels (though a little short on those so you may want to bring your own), to a toaster, refrigerator, stove and oven. Didn't do too much cooking in the house but it was nice that it most of the amenities we needed were there. The electric bbq grills outside were great. Weather was perfect, we never needed the air conditioner. We were fine with the ceiling fans and opening the sliding glass door and windows. Definitely looking forward to going back. Thanks!

The value and location of this place is great. An average sized 1 bedroom condo with all amenities. There are some extras that make your stay more fun like everything you might need for a beach excursion. It is across the street from the beach and located near shops and restaurants. Rick provided great customer service and was available via phone if I needed. I would stay there again, no question. The property was clean, and had W/D, dishwasher, etc. It is near Cafe O'Lei, Sansei Sushi, Da Kitchen, and Hand Maid Bakery- all recommended places to try. A couple of beaches are within walking distance as well as a grocery store (Foodland). Very conveniently located. Rating: 4 out of 5

This is a Great Condo in a Great Area. Its 4 minutes to the beach and I had no problem carrying my stand up paddle board down and back. Charley Young beach is awesome the waves are light so great for the stand up board bring a fishing rod as a lot of the locals fish just North of here during the full moon. The condo itself is great, first one I have ever rented in Hawaii with a washer and dryer this is a time saver and it will also help you pack lighter. A few of the rules at Maui Vista cold use a little relaxing, ie: the barbques are turned off at 9pm promptly whether or not your steaks are cooked... Also had some internet trouble but with the help of the owner we were able to get it addressed and working properly. I will come back here on my next trip to Maui if the condo is available.

My husband and I were celebrating our 40th anniversary when we stayed in "Paradise" for 4 nights. We were impressed at the cleanliness of the unit. Also, everything we could possibly want was thereincluding beach chairs! We even used the ice chest when we drove the road to Hana. The washer and dryer was very convenient. They even had detergent available. The location is perfect. We enjoyed the swimming pool right out the back door. There were numerous dining and shopping options nearby. We were comfortable and felt at homeeven with reading material available! We definitely are referring our friends who visit Maui to stay at this condo. Rick was friendly, prompt, and helpful. We plan to return to Maui and will definitely stay there again. Ohthe price is unbeatable, too!! Gwyn & Chuck R of Mesa, Arizona

This is the perfect spot for a week, two week or two months vacation, I have done them all at this condo. Close to the beach, nice tennis courts, great barbeques, very clean condo, it is perfect for my wife and I. The owners are very responsible about answering questions or returning emails, We are having our 2nd famiily reunion in December at Maui Vista and using both condos of the owners again. I would highly recommend these condos, I have directed many of my friends to these units and they have come away with the same feelings. Dale S Gig Harbor WA

this year marks the 3rd time we have rented this unit, it is an excellent location on the ground floor with easy access to the pool and Bar-b-q. Older decor, very well maintaned and every year something new for upgrade (new washer/dryer and last year new flooring, this year new flat screen TV). Owner has taken very good care of us and quickly repaired only one minor issue (leaky tap). Best beach on Maui is 5 min walk across the street and everything has been as advertized. We are back for another month again next year and already looking forward to it. Probably the best $ value to be found in Kihei. Rating: 4 out of 5

We rent this condo everytime we come to Maui. It is in a great location with a very short walk to the beach (2-3 mins max). Its also centrally located on the island so its great for being able to access other parts of the island fairly quickly. The property has three pools and BBQ grills that are great for grilling out or going for a swim when you aren't in the mood for the ocean. The condo has everything including boogie boards, plenty of towels and linens, everything for the kitchen (including appliances) so that we are able to save on our vacation by cooking in some nights. The decor is nice and fits with the island theme. The bedroom is comfortable. There is plenty of room in the condo and there is a pull out sofa for an extra guest in the living room, as well as a full size washer and dryer. The lanai is great to eat breakfast in the mornings and the condo is always comfortable. There is AC and there are also plenty of windows for cross breezes. The complex is very quiet at night. We highly recommend this condo to anyone for their Maui vacation!

“I recommend Maui Vista #2107. Nice, low price, extra comforts.”

My husband and I went to Maui Vista this last Aptil, and had a nice, very reasonably priced condo. It had lots of stuff like boogie boards, beach chairs, a cooler and things like that. We have stayed at other condos that didn't have these extras. A nice surprise!
It was nicely furnished, and had a nice beach across the street. The beach is very pretty, and the waves aren't too big. It was a great place for us to unwind a bit. I think we paid about $80 a night. It had a full kitchen, a patio with furniture, pools, wifi, and air conditioning (which you need!). The wifi was really handy to have. We recommend it! We had a lot of fun, swimming, learning to surf, snorkeling and hiking the volcano. We love Maui!
I think that these condos are owned by diifferent people. I would recommend working with Rick Warner again. He was really helpful.

Reviewed November 8, 2006 7people found this review helpfulAfter reading the many reviews of this property, we generally concur with the positiive comments. We stayed in unit 2107 in November, 2006. This is a first floor, one bedroom unit which we rented directly from the owner for $88/night including all taxes.
It is hard in Maui to find the perfect location - it is a big island. We ended up driving 40 min to Lahina several times for early morning departures - yet other times we had early morning departures in Kihiei (location of Maui Vista) so its in a good location depending on your activity schedule. This complex is on the older side and the age shows in many areas. Our unit was well kept and everything worked and had been updated. We had no cleaning service during our stay - and we didn't expect any either.
Our unit had boradband internet at no additional cost - it was very high speed Wifi. Parking was easy, mostly shaded and free. We enjoyed the almost complete set of beach toys for our use (we bought a cooler, so the unit now has one).
All in all a reasonable choice for an extended stay on Maui.

Reviewed November 1, 2008 4people found this review helpfulTwo key things you need to know about Maui Vista Resort (I don't know why its called 'Aloha' Maui VIsta Resort in TA, AFAICS the 'official' name is just Maui Vista and that's what it says on the large road sign outside it).
1. When reading comments about a condo, bear in mind that every condo is owned by someone different, (and rented via owner or an agent) so the cleanliness, facilities, state of repair etc are down to that exact condo owner. Bear this in mind when reading reviews and choosing where to stay, don't be put off the condo complex because of a bad review on condo 1234 if you are looking to stay in 2345 ! And conversely , if you read a great review on the facilities in 1234 don't expect the exact same in 2345.
2. The condo grounds are of course shared and the same for all condos, and I simply don't recognise in any way the report by someone who talks about alcoholics, groups of youths hanging around, people riding motorbikes , etc. 3 of us, couples, in 3 different condos in two different blocks (2&3) in Maui Vista, saw none of that in the week we were there (Oct 2008), and haven't seen it on previous weeks we stayed in past years either. There is a constant security patrol, the general area (certainly blocks 2 and 3 anyway as they are away from the road) is very quiet at night, the grounds are very well kept with manicured lawns, lots of lush palms and shrubs and plants, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Maui Vista as a good place to stay.
There are several tennis courts, each block has its own pool and double gas bbq area. When we were there,we were often the only people using the pools, possibly they could get crowded in term time as they are medium sized, but if you find one pool crowded and another one empty you can go and use that. The pools are locked so only residents of the general complex can use them, our keys fitted all pools.
The location is good, pretty much at the start of the beach areas of Kihei, just a few minutes walk from Charley Young Beach and a long walk (or more realistically a short drive) a couple of minutes south, to the Kamaole 1,2&3 beaches. Its about 15 minutes to the beaches and shops at Wailea, 45 minutes to Lahaina and a further 15 to Kaanapali. 10 minutes walk away or a short drive, is a supermarket, and a small complex with several cafes and pubs (I liked Lulus for lunch) and multiple souvenir stalls.
Our group stayed in condos 2107, and I would recommend it as a good condo to rent, not just because of the facilities but because of the ease of dealing with the owners and agents.
We paid very similar prices for all, between 85 and 95 dollars each per condo per night (all were one bedroom condos). Some of them had sofa beds in the living room, making them a very suitable and cheap way to stay in hawaii for a family .
All our condos came with the facilities you would expect including cooker, fridge, washer dryers, plus a variety of beach equipment left behind by previous occupants such as chairs, boogie boards, beachmats, mask and snorkels etc (Not all the same in each condo of course). So don't buy any of this type of stuff before you arrive as you'll never know whats there, we left some additional equipment as well.
So, in summary, I think this is an excellent condo complex, well situated, but search out reviews on specific condos you will stay in before deciding which one.

Reviewed March 31, 2009 1person found this review helpfulWe stayed at the one bedroom condo in December of 2008. The condo is in Kihei, a block from a really great beach- Kamaole I beach. It was great for our kids to swim in, the waves aren't too big, but they still could ride the waves. The water is warm and clear, and they had a blast there! The sand is really powdery, great for making sand castles. There is a lot to do nearby, and the condo had a kitchen, air conditioning, cable tv, dvd, pool, and extras like boogie boards, beach chairs, and coolers. It was like our second home. We really recommend that you "stayinparadise".

These are owned primarily by people that rent them out, which is quite popular in hawaii. The owners can be the type that actually stay there for parts of the year, or those that do it purely as investment and purchased them sight unseen. I've heard and read of horror stories of vacationers renting these condos and really being hit or miss depending on the owner.
I found this one on http://stayinparadise.com and have found it to be a great place to stay at a great price.
The owners and their families actually stay here, so they keep the place really nice.
This condo is located in South Kihei, which is exactly where I wanted to stay. It's super close to Wailea, which is easily twice as expensive. I enjoy staying at condos much better than hotels since they have all the amenities of home (of course, you do have to clean up after yourself). But if you're in hawaii for a week, it's great (and economical) to be able to cook your own meals once in a while and do your laundry!
At maui vista, they have a swimming pool, tennis courts, bbq area, and probably more as i'm sure i didn't check out everything.
the unit itself was great. the owner put in a new washer/dryer, which was really nice to have (who wants to wear week old swimming suits?). there was a kitchen (small one) with dishwasher and free internet connection. I'm not sure if all the units in this complex are outfitted the same, but this has all the amenities i was looking for.
The owners were very helpful in answering questions i had, and there were no problems with the unit.
Maui certainly has a number of activities from the super adventurous to those who just want to hang out at the beach all day. it was really nice to have a great place to stay to call "home" while we were in maui.
